Common Objects is an ongoing collaborative project founded in 2012 by graphic designers Mélanie Dautreppe-Liermann (FR) & Margherita Huntley (UK).

We met while studying at Central Saint Martins, and began working together as an occasional studio on projects that emphasise our shared approach, which aims to be interdisciplinary across art, design and humanities, and considers graphic design as a form of research in this area.

We are open to a range of concepts, formats and platforms, especially interested in printed matter but also in producing 'objects' (talks, exhibitions, workshops, publications, image-making).

Print Protest Publication

The Print Protest Publication was produced in the context of the print protest taking place at Central Saint Martins between February and June 2011, in order to keep the printmaking and book-binding facilities at the new King's Cross site. The publication gathers works produced using these facilities that express students' attachment to manual processes.

The Print Matters Interest Group gathered a group of Central Saint Martins graphic design students. It encourages experimental and original approaches to printed material and discussions about contemporary publishing through series of workshops, studios and exhibitions visits, bookbinding classes...

In collaboration w/ Olivia Sautreuil and the Print Matters Interest Group.
